Bannock County Divorce Records
To officially end a marriage, the spouses would need to file for a divorce. Following due procedure, the marriage ends once a divorce judgment is passed. As a matter of judicial practice, records created during a court hearing are preserved and managed by the court. This means that the Bannock County District Court maintains the divorce records of the divorces it has handled.
Note that while divorce records maintained by the judiciary are publicly accessible, a divorce certificate, which is maintained by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, is deemed confidential for 50 years from the date of the event according to Idaho Code § 39-270(e).
